Centres

Article summary

Centres, rather than objects, are understood as a division of the system into sub-administrative units, closely linked to the competences in the company. Typical divisions of centres are, for example, the Head Office, the Operations Department, and so on. Similar to objects, centers have subtypes and parent centers can be defined for them. For example, it is common to subdivide centres into the following types: Economic Centre, Cargo Centre, Overhead Centre, etc. The centre manager setting is mainly used as a recipient for sending automatic notifications. The activity of a centre can be limited to individual modules. The centre is important from the point of view of invoice distribution (if distribution to centres is enabled).

In the Center Enumerator form, we can filter primarily by entity and activity, which we set in the Parameters section. We also have the option to filter the records above each column and click on the column name to enable ascending or descending sorting by that column.

You can add a new centre by pressing the New record button and filling in the centre parameters.

  • Code - centre code
  • Name - name of the centre
  • Type - type of centre
  • Supervised centre - option to assign a supervisor to the centre
  • Manager - manager of the centre (important mainly for sending notifications)
  • Description - description of the centre
  • Active - allows you to set the activity (applicability) of the centre
  • Available in modules - allows to limit the applicability of the centre to modules according to the list in the settings
  • Header record - can be set in the header, for example invoices received
  • Item record - can be set for items, for example in the invoice receivable distribution

If both options (Header record and Item record) are active, then the centre can be used both in the header and for individual items.

In the right part of the form, you can also set resort restrictions:

  • Entities - limits the entities for which the centre can be used
  • Activities allowed - limits the activities over which the centre can be used
  • Products allowed - restricts the use of products for the centre
